Introduced by Leo Fender at the tail end of the 1940s, the two-pickup Broadcaster was eventually renamed the Telecaster. However, compared to mid '50s Telecasters, the original Broadcaster lead pickup had larger .197 inch pieces in a flat orientation for a nicely nasal twang, a bit of midrange snarl, ample sustain, and a bit more output.
